A Boy, A Bayou & A Dream
My husband James grew up in Hackberry, Louisiana — pretty much his whole life has been spent right here on the Gulf Coast. From the time he was a boy, you could find him out on the water fishing after school. It wasn't just a hobby for James. It was his passion, his calling, his happy place.
In 1996, James turned that passion into something real. He opened Jab's Seafood, named after his initials, J.A.B., buying and selling live fish and crabs right here in Hackberry. It started simple, the way the best things do.
The Best Catch of His Life
We got together in 2000, and married in 2001. Now, James has always been a great fisherman — but I must say, I was the best catch of his life! 😄
Together we've built not just a business, but a life rooted in this community. Hackberry is home, the Gulf is family, and every cup of crab meat we pack is done with love.
Every Storm, Every Season — Still Standing
Running a business on the Gulf Coast isn't always smooth waters. Jab's Seafood has weathered every hurricane that came through, and let's not forget COVID. We've been knocked down more than once. But every single time, we got back up stronger and better than before.
That resilience isn't just stubbornness, it's faith. It's family. It's the Gulf Coast spirit that runs through everything we do. Needless to say, Jab's Seafood is very strong!
Two Years in the Making
In 2023, we started the process of building our very own crab picking plant. Two long years of hard work, dedication, inspections, and paperwork — but we never gave up on the vision.
In October 2025, our processing plant was officially added to our business license. We have been going full force ever since. Hand-picking and packing the freshest Gulf Coast crab meat right here in Hackberry, and shipping it straight to your door.
Every cup is packed with the same care and love James brought to those first days on the water. That will never change.
